RIT: LIVE TO PICTURE, a film showcase celebrating the collaboration between filmmakers and composers in Rochester. Featuring films and original scores of students, faculty, and alumni from both Rochester Institute of Technology and the Eastman School of Music, the RIT: LIVE TO PICTURE preview presents the long standing collaboration between Eastman composers and RIT filmmakers. The film screening acts as a preview for RIT: LIVE TO PICTURE which will be presented by Empire Film Music Ensemble next fall, featuring films performed live to picture with orchestra. Both the upcoming preview and future concert with orchestra include works by RIT professors Stephanie Maxwell, Jonathan Krueger, Tom Davis, and more.
With an ensemble that morphs to accommodate any given production, EFME is proud to present "An Afternoon of Light Songs," the groups first concert comprised exclusively of voices. This production is a multimedia concert presenting a reimagined version of Philip Glass' Vessels from Koyaanisqatsi, as well as the premier of two new works from composer/videographer Jose Benjamin Escobar and Claire Caverly.
